Northampton County Case Study
Pennsylvania County helps 151,000 households deactivate up to 6 million unwanted medications
Northampton County has struggled to combat the rise of fentanyl-related overdoses in recent years. The county launched a campaign to raise awareness about the dangers of fentanyl and counterfeit pills, but it needed a way to quickly get resources into the community on a large scale.
With the help of opioid settlement funds, Northampton launched a Deterra Household Mailing Campaign to mail drug deactivation and disposal pouches and educational materials directly to 151,000 households – enough to destroy up to 6 million pills.
