Nonprofit increases access to safe drug deactivation and disposal pouches in Ohio’s Franklin County

Ohio has one of the highest rates of opioid-related overdose deaths in the U.S., and Franklin County saw a 73% increase in overdose fatalities during the first half of 2020. With access to prevention resources limited during the COVID-19 pandemic, nonprofit Community for New Direction partnered with other local organizations to increase access to safe, at-home drug deactivation with the Deterra® Drug Deactivation and Disposal System.
