As the opioid epidemic upsets communities around the country, some are partnering with companies like Deterra to combat it.
Broome County Executive Jason Garnar recently shared that the New York county has partnered with the Deterra Drug Deactivation and Disposal System to distribute 2,000 deactivation pouches to residents. Combatting the heroin epidemic has been one of his top priorities since taking office.
“People were dying, families were being broken apart, and we’re in a crisis,” he said. “Together, we jumped into the trenches and worked to fight this problem, and we’ve made a lot of progress.”
