DuPage Sheriff Offers ‘Deterra’ Bags In Opioid Fight

The DuPage County Sheriff’s office is now offering free Deterra bags to get rid of leftover opioid prescriptions.

(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — DuPage County has been hit especially hard by the opioid epidemic, and now the sheriff is pushing a new tool to destroy some of the drugs that hook people.

“This is more predominately white male, between 18 to 28, is the demographic we’re seeing prevalent in the streets,” DuPage County Sheriff James Mendrick said Tuesday, describing the typical person who has an opioid addiction.
