Rotary and Lions Clubs located in Northern Connecticut and Western Massachusetts have joined forces to launch an addiction task force aimed at combating the public health issue of opioid dependence and overdose deaths, according to a release.
Leadership in Rotary District 7890 and Lions District 23B partnered with diverse resources, including the Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services promote National Drug Take Back Day on April 27.
The Rotary-Lions task force will connect citizens with multiple resources designed to help prevent and address opioid misuse and addiction at home, in the workplace and in the community, members said.
